======== HIGH PULP ======== Deep within a no-name Seattle basement, High Pulp is born. What they first brewed down there is a monstrosity - a high-octane jazz, funk, hip-hop, punk, psychedelic cocktail with foul odors and a bitter taste. It’s chewy too. The addicts call it BAD JUICE and their warning is clear: DO NOT CONSUME. IT WILL MAKE YOU SICK

How did it come to this? In 2017, High Pulp emerged from a weekly “Funk Church” residency at Seattle’s historic jazz club The Royal Room. It was here that the collective took shape, grew together, and set about creating their unique style of instrumental music.

Soon thereafter, High Pulp entered the studio to record their debut album Bad Juice, released in June 2018. Featuring 8 tracks, this album whisks the listener on a Bad-Juice-induced stupor of euphoria and narcosis, all the while inducing subconscious head-bobbing.

Now, High Pulp is feverishly producing their next wave of releases. Their Light Fix EP (November 2019) brought vocalists into High Pulp’s extended musical family for the first time, featuring guest appearances by three R&B/soul singers and KEXP favorites: JusMoni, Falon Sierra and Shaina Shepherd (BEARAXE).

“High Pulp’s infusion of soul-based hiphop, R&B, and funk cannot be missed” - The Stranger

"Seattle’s fusion big band High Pulp’s debut... answers the new millennium’s post-trip-hop, -indie, -ambient, -drum & bass, etc. contemporary with vinyl sharp grooves, macramé arrangements, and session-level instrumentation" - Earshot Jazz

“There just aren’t many bands making music like this right now” - What’s Up! Magazine

======== CYTRUS ======== Shaped by Jared Squires (guitar), Jeran Plumacher (drums), Luke Nevills (bass/keys), Brandon Hailey (saxophone), Owen Mayo (guitar/keys), Trevor Church (drums), Alex Dean (synth/keys), and Sean Connelly (vocals/keys), Cytrus’ eight-piece funk-driven fusion makes a place at the table for everyone, offering a psychedelic pallet of funk, disco, electronic, rock, neo-soul, hip-hop, and more. The Seattle-based band is personalized by its juicy synths, bass-induced grooves, and cinematic live performances. However, the group is best known for their flowing transitions in variety, consistently sonic wall of sound, and undeniable chemistry.

In their short time together, Cytrus has witnessed massive growth within itself and the surrounding community. Originally founded as a four-piece in early 2018 under the cover of HopSol, the ‘couple buds’ quickly began to absorb additional musicians before joining forces with a group formerly known as Bunk Foss. As a bi-product, the nine-piece has begun to build a dedicated fan base in the Northwest and beyond, co-hosting multiple sold out events throughout Western Washington and becoming a go-to act for promoters throughout the region. The merge sparked a turning point in the band’s sound, energy, and presence, ergo giving Cytrus its newfound name.
